PESS 347 - Assessment & Program Evaluation in Adapted Physical Education


(3 S.H.)

This course addresses test instruments for assessing the gross motor development, motor skill performance, and physical activity/fitness of persons with disabilities. Students will learn how to select and administer assessment instruments and how to use the results of assessments to deliver DAPE services. From data collection, students will learn to make eligibility decisions, develop physical education components of individualized education programs (IEPs) as the basis for instructional programs, monitor education progress, and make appropriate education decisions based on objective data. Teaching practicum required. Prerequisites: PESS 195 - Foundations of Physical Education  and PESS 337 - Developmental/Adapted Physical Education . Grade only.
