CTE 401 - Foundations of Career and Technical Education


(3 credits)

This course examines the history, philosophical foundations, pedagogical practices, legislation, policies, and professional organizations in Career and Technology Education. The course competencies are designed on the national, state, and professional standards and include understanding the need to formulate and refine beliefs, goals, and strategies for effective teaching practice within CTE, the value of diversity in CTE, and the ethics of professional practice in CTE. Prerequisite: Admission to Teacher Education or instructor permission. Grade or P/NC. Offered each semester.
