△ SPAN 410 - The Latino Experience in the United States

This course examines historical and current issues relevant to the Latino population in the United States through the lens of social justice and human rights. The Latino experience will be studied through readings, literature, film, presentations and discussions. The role of Latinos in the work force, politics and educational system are of particular focus. Readings, literature, and films will be both in English and Spanish; class discussion will be in Spanish. Spanish writing skills will be developed through content work and direct instruction.
