HERS 433 - Senior Health Seminar

In-depth school and community health analysis. Review of responsibilities and competencies for entry-level health educators, for Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) credentials and ethical considerations and standards, as outlined by the Society of Public Health Educators. Completion of professional files: resume, the development of a letter of application, professional presentation for interviews, professional portfolios and skills needed to make one marketable. Upon successful completion of this course, students will (1) complete all professional papers (resume, cover letter, references, etc.) that are required by the career and placement center on campus; (2) secure credible references for their file; and (3) develop their working professional portfolio. Prerequisites: ✽ HERS 204 - Personal & Community Health , HERS 288 - Health Perspectives  HERS 312 - School & Community Health ,   and Senior standing. Recommended prerequisites: ◆ HERS 403 - Epidemiology  and STAT 110 - Fundamentals of Statistics . Grade only. Offered annually.
