PESS 325 - Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment Methods in Elementary Physical Education


(3 S.H.)

This course is a pedagogy focused on developmentally appropriate, standard-based curriculum, planning, instruction and assessment for pre-school and elementary school students. Pre-service physical educators will learn how to apply, implement, and evaluate the use of curriculum models, instructional models, instructional/managerial strategies, and teaching styles in elementary physical education. Prerequisites: PESS 111 - Fundamentals of Movement , PESS 114 - Fundamentals of Adventure Education , PESS 151 - Fundamentals of Rhythms & Dance , PESS 152 - Fundamentals of Games Education , PESS 161 - Fundamentals of Aquatics & Outdoor Activities  PESS 162 - Fundamentals of Specialized Skills , PESS 225 - Planning, Instruction and Assessment in Physical/Adventure Education , & admission to Teacher Education Program. Majors only. Grade only. Offered fall semester.
