SPED 664 - Issues in Special Education

The goals of this course are to familiarize students with current topics and critical controversies in special education and to help students gain skills in critical analysis of issues. The course will cover cultural, sociological, educational, and legal factors that are relevant to understanding special education. Prerequisites: SPED 500 - Education of Exceptional Children/Youth , SPED 505 - Student Management Systems , SPED 520 - Special Education Administrative Procedures , SPED 530 - Characteristics of Students with Disabilities , SPED 631 - Field Experience /SPED 554 - Early Childhood Special Education Field Experience and SPED 641 - Internship Developmental Disabilities . Grade only.
