EL 656 - Connected Educator, Connected Classroom

Personal learning networks (PLNs) can provide instructional leaders powerful learning opportunities and experiences that are personalized and flexible based on their professional needs. In this course, participants will explore digital age communication and collaboration tools to develop their PLN and learn to discover or create global learning experiences for their students or staff. Other topics addressed in this course: What opportunities and challenges does global learning bring to the classroom? How do digital profiles and their corresponding footprint impact a school and community? How will I foster digital citizens in my classroom and/or school? This is a three-credit hybrid course. We meet face to face at the beginning and end of the course as well as several times throughout the duration of the course. Recommended prerequisite: EL 651 - Blended Learning Environments . Grade only. Offered annually.
