With an emphasis on mathematical proof writing, the following topics are covered: structure of the real and complex numbers, elementary number theory, introductory group and field properties, basic topology of the reals. Prerequisite: MATH 242 - Linear Algebra and either MATH 247 - Discrete Mathematics or CS 275 - Mathematical Foundations of Algorithms. Grade or P/NC. Offered each semester.
