Introduction to igneous, and metamorphic petrology with a focus on description and classification of igneous and metamorphic rocks, leading to the petrogenetic and tectonic interpretation. Lecture and laboratory. Multi-day field trip required. Prerequisites: GEOS 305 - Minerals and Rocks and CHEM 212 - Principles of Chemistry I. Grade only. Offered spring semester alternate years.
