SPED 475 - Secondary Practicum for ABS

This field experience provides the opportunity for teacher candidates to apply and practice knowledge and skills required for Minnesota licensure as an Academic and Behavioral Strategist. Teacher candidates will be placed in a secondary Special Education setting over the course of the semester. Assignments required for the field experience will align with assignments required for SPED 471 and 473. Preparation for the edTPA required in SPED 477 - Student Teaching for ABS will be included. Prerequisites: SPED 300 - Children and Youth with Exceptionalities, SPED 405 - Student Management Systems, ◎ SPED 420 - Special Education Administrative Procedures, and admission to Teacher Education. Pre/corequisite: SPED 425 - Inclusion in Regular Classrooms. Corequisites: SPED 471 - Advanced Behavior Methods and SPED 473 - Transition and Secondary Skills Instruction. P/NC only. Offered each semester.
