MSW 537 - Professional Development Project I

(0-1 S.H.)

This is the first course in a four-course sequence that provides students opportunities to assess their professional social work knowledge, skills, values, and cognitive and affective processes. Students will discriminate their strengths from areas in which they need more growth and development. Students will compare their current assessment with a previous one and identify contributions that their coursework and other academic activities have contributed to change. They will evaluate future learning opportunities in terms of how these opportunities may help them achieve their academic and professional goals. Students will work closely with their instructor throughout these processes. Students demonstrate their learning and professional growth through their preparation of a professional development project. Prerequisite: admission to MSW program or instructor permission. Grade only. Offered each semester as needed.
