HIST 320 - Topics in Native American History


(3 credits)

This course examines important issues in the history of North American Natives: prehistoric interactions among Native groups, Native reaction and interaction with early Europeans, cultural issues such as the outlawing of Native languages and Native customs, the American Indian Movement, the First Nations Movement, and the anti-Columbus protests. It discusses both Canada and the United States in an effort to include all North American Native groups. Prerequisite: HIST 235 - Introduction to Native American History . Grade only. Offered alternate years (usually spring semester). Repeatable as topics change.
