The history of the Soviet Union and Russia during the 20th century. Topics include the 1905 and 1917 Revolutions, the development of the Soviet command economy, Stalin’s political purges and cultural revolution, World War II, and the Cold War. The course will also discuss the collapse of Soviet Communism and the Yeltsin era. Grade only.
