△ WGSS 373 - Feminist Theories and Politics


(3 credits)

This course seeks to examine theoretical approaches and practices to address social and global oppressions. This course will explore the historical development of various strands of feminist thought and the range of interpretive possibilities such thought has opened up. This course will use intersectional and anti-essentialist frameworks to critique dominant understandings of political, social, cultural and economic realities. Prerequisites: ENG 111 - College Reading and Writing  WGSS 148 - Introduction to Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies  WGSS 220 - Intersections of Privilege and Power  or WGSS 233 - Introduction to LGBTQ Studies , or instructor’s permission. Grade or P/NC. Offered at least once annually.
