HERS 470 - Contemporary Topics in Human Nutrition


(3 credits)

This course will expose students to topics in human nutrition that are currently controversial or popular in our culture. This course will also explore skills necessary to help individuals become discerning consumers of nutrition information and develop an evidence informed practice. Prerequisites: BIOL 211 - Anatomy and Physiology I , BIOL 212 - Anatomy and Physiology II , ✽ HERS 205 - Nutrition for Lifetime Wellness , △ HERS 340 - Physiology of Exercise , and CHEM 210 - General, Organic, and Biochemistry  or CHEM 212 - Principles of Chemistry I . Student must have completed at least 60 credits and have declared Nutrition Minor or Public Health Nutrition Emphasis. Grade only. Offered alternate years.
