△ WGSS 373 - Anti-Racist Feminist Theories and Politics


(3 credits)

This course seeks to examine theoretical approaches and practices to address social and global oppressions. This course will explore abolitionist, anti-imperialist, and anti-racist intersectional feminist theories. This course will use intersectional and anti-essentialist frameworks to critique dominant understandings of political, social, cultural and economic realities. Prerequisites: ENG 111 - College Reading and Writing , WGSS 148 - Introduction to Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies , WGSS 220 - Intersections of Privilege and Power  or WGSS 233 - Introduction to LGBTQIA+ Studies , or instructor permission. Grade or P/NC. Offered at least once annually.
