CE 630 - Counseling Children & Adolescents


(3 credits)

In this course, students will learn the history, theory, and practice of counseling children and adolescents and its defining principles. Topics will include thoughts and behavior change, relationships, family systems, creative arts in counseling, and the ethics and legal foundations when working with children. Common presenting concerns and counseling interventions to respond to them effectively will also be introduced. Ethical and multicultural considerations will be incorporated throughout the course. Prerequisite: CE 601 - Foundations of Counseling . Grade only. Offered annually.
