CHEM 539 - Biochemistry of Drug Metabolism

An advanced elective that emphasizes the qualitative and quantitative chemistry of drug metabolism. Topics include pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, drug absorption, distribution and excretion, phase I and phase II biotransformation, principles of therapeutics, and toxicology. Prerequisite: CHEM 401 - Biochemistry II (see undergrad catalog) or instructor permission. Grade only. Offered every three years.
