CE 646 - Introduction to Play Therapy (3 credits)
Learn an overview of the history of play therapy and its defining principles. Integrate person-centered theoretical concepts into play therapy practice with children and adolescents presenting with a variety of psychosocial issues. Apply microskills and other methods in the practice of the play therapy process. Identify ethical and multicultural considerations in play therapy throughout the course. Prerequisites: Admission to Counselor Education program, CE 601 - Foundations of Counseling , and CE 658 - Microskills . Individuals who have completed a Master’s degree or Doctorate in Counseling or a related profession are also eligible to take this course. Grade only. Offered annually or when demand warrants. Note: Limited to 15 students per section.
