CAS 600 - Introduction to Child and Adolescent Studies


(3 credits)

The purpose of Introduction to Child and Adolescent Studies course is to provide students in helping professions with an in-depth understanding of the developmental needs of children uniquely from an advocacy lens. This course will include a review of child development, child maltreatment and associated risk factors of maltreatment, an introduction to advocacy models, an introduction to advocate responses, and contemporary issues in the field of child maltreatment. Grade only. Offered annually (usually fall semester).
