CAS 610 - Systems I: Benefits and Barriers

This course explores the “inner circles” of Bronnfenbrenner’s ecological model of systems. Inner circles include the child, immediate family, house, and kinship including informal networks. Systems I will explore the cultures of these inner circle systems, define the broader systems that are currently in place, and explore how these systems and organizations benefit or create barriers for families and children and adolescents. Grade only. Offered annually (usually fall semester).
