MUS 109 - Introduction to Music

(3 credits) Meets GOAL 5 and GOAL 6 (Fine Arts).

Study of the elements of music, fundamental techniques, and formal patterns. Stylistic traits of Baroque, Classic, Romantic, and modern periods. Brief biographies of outstanding composers. Students become familiar with representative works through recordings. Grade or P/NC. Offered each semester.
