△ NURS 426 - Clinical Prevention and Population Health I


(4 credits) (2 credits theory/2 credits practicum) Meets GEP Writing Intensive.

Introduces the core public health sciences and explores the principles and practices necessary for integrating clinical prevention and population health into nursing practice. Successful completion of this course means that students will be able to provide healthcare activities which contribute to decreasing morbidity and mortality and improving quality of life in a diverse society. Prerequisites: NURS 341 - Therapeutic Applications of Nursing Skills and Health Assessment , NURS 343 - Professional Practice I , NURS 344 - Leadership in Basic Nursing Practice , NURS 360 - Pharmacology , NURS 366 - Pathophysiology , and ◆ NURS 354 - Leadership in Research and Evidence-Based Practice . Corequisites: NURS 421 - Nursing of Childbearing Families  and NURS 422 - Nursing of Childrearing Families . Grade only. Offered each semester.
