EDUC 413 - Development in Infancy


(3 credits)

Study in this course includes physical, social, emotional, cognitive and creative development in the first two years with an emphasis on care in-group settings.  Exposure to integrated curriculum, appropriate teaching strategies, inclusion and assessment. Intentional lesson planning aligned with Minnesota Indicators of Progress to achieve positive outcomes for young children will be emphasized. Evidenced-based methods in developing curriculum to enhance child health and well-being for infants and toddlers. A 30-hour of practicum experience with infants and toddlers in the WSU Child Development Center required. Prerequisites: Admission to ELEC program and EDUC 410 - Foundations of Early Childhood Education . Grade only. Offered each semester. Course may be retaken once due to student withdrawal or earning less than a C grade.
