◆ HIST 395 - Historical Research Methods (3 credits) Meets GEP Math/Critical Analysis Intensive.
This course introduces students to the tools and methods of historical research and analysis. Students will practice a variety of historical research and writing skills including, but not limited to: using library resources to locate primary and secondary sources, evaluating and interpreting primary sources, writing thesis statements, generating footnotes and a bibliography. This course will also help students create the foundation for their larger capstone project, which they will complete during their final semester in HIST 495: Senior Seminar. Prerequisites: declared History major/minor, Law and Society major, or Social Science/History major; ENG 111 - College Reading and Writing ; and instructor permission. Grade only. Offered fall semester. Note: Limited to 20 students.
