(3 credits) Meets GEP Writing Intensive (Effective 1/1/2025)

This class will examine selected events and topics from contemporary European History. The course will also introduce students to the challenges historians face when researching and interpreting the recent past. The course addresses three to four themes which are representative of larger trends in contemporary history writing. Examples of these themes include war, revolution, nationalism, decolonization, immigration, and authoritarian regimes. Grade only. Offered every two or three years.
