MKTG 397 - Sales Team

This course is a sales practicum involving competing and/or coaching a competitive collegiate sales team. It includes actual in-depth experience in advanced selling and communication techniques. Specific topics include communication skills development and the intricacies of applying the sales process to numerous sales situations in a dynamic, competitive environment. In addition, students will develop a marketing plan to be used as a template for future competitive teams and to provide direction for recruiting, judging and selecting a team, as well as formalize coaching and training formats. The course involves substantial experiential learning including role plays and involvement in several competitions throughout the semester. Grade only. Offered fall and spring semesters. The course is a variable credit offering that will be taken for 0 credits the first through penultimate semesters and then taken for 3 credits the final semester.
