BIOL 118 - Essentials of Biology with Lab

(4 credits) Meets GOAL 3.

This course introduces the general education student to the scientific study of life, where students are given tools to not only understand biology, but to make sense of the science-related news encountered daily. Through readings and discussion, students deliberate societal issues in the biological sciences. Includes virtual lab activities and field studies. Grade or P/NC. Offered when demand warrants. Note: Students elect to take either BIOL 118 (lecture and lab, 4 credits) or BIOL 119 (lecture only, 3 credits), but cannot earn credit for both.
