SOCW 340 - Introduction to Social Work and Social Welfare


(3 credits)

This class introduces the profession of social work, both past and present. The course covers a broad spectrum of social work including the many practice settings, diverse client groups, and social issues. The course examines issues relevant to social work, including anti-racism, diversity, oppression, poverty, racism, ethnic, and religious minority groups, and sexual orientation. Grade only. Offered each semester on Winona and Rochester campuses. Note: Limited enrollment.
