Intended to provide hands-on practice solving the quantitative problems introduced in an undergraduate general chemistry course. Topics include algebraic rearrangement of equations, unit conversions and dimensional analysis, estimations of amounts and orders of magnitude, efficient calculator use, and general chemistry problem-solving approaches and techniques. Prerequisite: High school intermediate algebra or concurrent enrollment in MATH 120 - Precalculus or a higher-numbered mathematics course. Corequisite: CHEM 212 - Principles of Chemistry I. Grade only. Offered annually (usually fall semester).
