MATH 467 - Introduction to Algebraic Topology


(4 Credits)

A study of shape and structure in low dimensions. Main topics include knot theory, surface classification, and 3-dimensional manifolds. Properties that are studied include topological and knot invariants, Euler characteristic, orientability, and fundamental group. Prerequisites: MATH 311 - Linear Algebra  and △ MATH 327 - Foundations of Mathematics . Grade only. Offered alternate semesters (usually spring).
