BIOL 109 - Microbes and Society

An exploration of the microbial world and how that world influences life on earth. Through lectures, assigned readings, Internet explorations, videotapes, writing assignments, and discussions, this course examines the power and influence of selected microorganisms on history, medicine, economics, the environment, demography, the arts, and human lives. Grade only. Offered annually.
