BIOL 431 - Molecular Biology Laboratory

An intensive laboratory course introducing modern methods and instrumentation in molecular biology. Selected exercises in recombinant DNA technology, including DNA isolation and quantification, restriction enzyme analysis, gene cloning, Southern hybridization, DNA amplification via the polymerase chain reaction, DNA sequencing and introduction to sequence analysis software. Pre/corequisite: BIOL 430 - Molecular Genetics and instructor permission. Grade or P/NC. Offered annually.
