MUS 320 - Music for Elementary Teachers


(1 credit)

This course provides the future classroom teacher with the skills and knowledge necessary to teach music in an elementary setting. Students will develop strategies to both teach music and to integrate music into other areas of the curriculum. Students with an adequate background in music should consider MUS 322 - Classroom Music Methods I  as an alternate to this course. Prerequisite: Junior or senior standing;  , MUS 137 - Modern Guitar I , MUS 143 - Treble Chorus , or MUS 243 - Concert Choir ; and admission to the Professional Education Sequence. Grade only. Offered each semester. Note: Not for Music Majors. Not applicable toward BA degree.
