NURS 455 - Issues and Trends in Managing Chronic Conditions

This course explores the evolving landscape of chronic illness management, focusing on current health policies, epidemiological trends, and social determinants of health. Students examine the impact of lifestyle changes, technological advancements, and healthcare disparities on the prevalence and treatment of chronic diseases. The experience of individuals living with chronic conditions will be explored. The course encourages analysis of system level initiatives and their effectiveness in addressing chronic disease prevention and management. By the end of the course, students will be equipped to advocate for systemic changes and improve health outcomes in diverse populations affected by chronic conditions. Prerequisite: admission to RN-BS Completion Program. Grade only. Offered fall and spring semesters.
