MATH 311 - Linear Algebra


(4 credits)

An introduction to using linear algebra techniques and tools to solve and extract data from systems. Topics include: Systems of Linear Equations, Eigenvalues and Eigenvectors and Singular Value Decomposition (SVD), Abstract vector spaces, Matrix invariants, Computer Algebra Systems (CAS). Prerequisite: MATH 212 - Calculus I ; or MATH 222 - Data-Driven Mathematical Modeling ; or MATH 140 - Applied Calculus  and CS 275 - Mathematical Foundations of Algorithms .  Grade or P/NC. Offered each semester.
