MUS 317 - Jazz in the Schools

An overview of the tools necessary for educators to function in a jazz performance/jazz pedagogy context within secondary school music programs. Basic improvisation, learning through methods authentic to the jazz tradition, and ensemble playing form the primary content of this course. Prerequisite: MUS 202 - Theory II. Grade only. Offered alternate years.
