HERS 319 - Health Administration and Management (3 credits)
This 3 credit course introduces students to the concepts of management and administration in health care with emphasis on effective leadership and understanding the complex nature of the American health care industry. Students will be introduced to theories of management and models of leadership used in health care administration. They will study organizational behavior, human resource management, strategic planning, measures of health service quality, information technology, ethics and finance and budgeting. Prerequisite: △ HERS 316 - Introduction to Public Health or instructor permission. Grade only. Offered annually (usually spring semester).
