✽ PESS 161 - Fundamentals of Outdoor Activities


(3 credits) Meets Physical Development and Wellness Requirement.

This course addresses fundamentals of outdoor adventure activities that can be addressed in adventure education, adventure-based physical education programs, and other programs in the sport leadership industry. Students gain knowledge and competency in select activities such as indoor & outdoor rock climbing, mtn biking, high & low ropes courses, paddle sports(canoe, kayak, stand up paddle boarding), ice climbing, snowshoeing, and other outdoor activities that are implemented to enhance physical activity for a lifetime. Grade only. Offered fall semester.
