ART 111 - Introduction to Design Thinking

(3 credits)

Introduction to human-centered design thinking as a creative, iterative approach to problem-solving across disciplines. Students will learn key stages of the design thinking process (empathize, define, ideate, prototype, test), develop visual and verbal ideation skills, and engage in reflective practice. Through project-based work, students will explore how design thinking can be applied to real-world challenges in their own fields of study, with emphasis on collaboration, ethical awareness, and inclusive perspectives. Grade only. Offered when demand warrants.
