ART 210 - Design Program Application (0 credits)
Structured application course for admission to the Graphic Design (ARTG) and I-Design (ARTD) majors. Students confirm completion or concurrent enrollment in required preparatory courses (ART 118, ART 150, ART 243, ART 260, ART 265), assemble and submit a Design Program Application Portfolio demonstrating intermediate software competency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, and complete an application form and reflective statement. Because seats in the programs are limited, admission is competitive based on preparation, portfolio quality, and academic record. Students who are not admitted may reapply in a subsequent semester. Completion of or concurrent enrollment in: ART 118 - Foundational Drawing , ART 150 - Digital Design Fundamentals , ART 243 - Typography and Information Design , ART 260 - Visual and Layout Design , and ART 265 - Tactile and Environmental Design ; or instructor permission. Grade or P/NC. Offered each semester. May be repeated. No credit is granted toward graduation.
