ART 310 - International Exposure in Design (0-6 credits)
International and multicultural learning experience in design, documented and assessed under Design faculty supervision. Students participate in an approved international or multicultural activity-such as a faculty-led study-away program or a study abroad program offered by another department or institution-and complete design-focused reflection, documentation, and, when taken for credit, additional discipline-specific assignments. Prior approval from a Design Academic Advisor is required. Variable credit (0-6) allows use of the course both to record completion of the program’s international exposure requirement (0 credits) and to grant credit for design-intensive study-away or study abroad experiences (1-6 credits). Prerequisites: Sophomore standing (15 credits) and instructor permission. Corequisites: When applicable based on Design Academic Advisor approval, concurrent enrollment in: a designated faculty-led study-away course, and/or an approved study abroad program offered by another WSU department or partner institution. Grade only. Offered when demand warrants. May be repeated with different international experiences, subject to program limits. Up to 6 credits may be applied toward Art & Design major or minor requirements.
