BIOL 341 - Course-Based Undergraduate Research Experience

Students will learn about the scientific process through the design and implementation of a guided research project while also learning important research skills. Research projects will vary depending on the instructor, with one cell-based and one-ecology based section per year. This will be a semester-long course-based research project. Course name will change based on a special topic selected by the instructor. Students can retake for up to 3 credits for Biology major electives. BIOL 341 can also be used for students coming to WSU with transfer credits for BIOL 241 or BIOL 242 but lacking a lab component to the transfer course. Prerequisite: BIOL 241 - Basics of Life, BIOL 242 - Organismal Diversity, or instructor permission. Required minimum credits: 15. Grade only. Offered at least once annually. This course may be repeated for up to a total of 3 credits.
