Purpose
The Departments of Art & Design and Mass Communication offer a joint photography minor degree. Students have the opportunity to earn a degree through the sustained study of diverse photographic practices. Students will create photographic images in both Mass Communication and Studio Art courses through this shared minor degree to acquire strong visual literacy skills, technical photography skills, identify their unique creative voice, and learn the broad range of professional applications of photography within the art and mass communication fields. Students will complete the degree by building a mature portfolio of photographic images to support their career of choice.
