Goal 3: Natural Science (7 S.H.)

 (Requires one course with lab and encourages courses from at least two different subject areas)

Goal 4: Mathematics/Logical Reasoning (3 S.H.)

Goal 5: History and the Social and Behavioral Sciences (9 S.H.)

(Requires courses from at least two different subject areas)

Goal 6: The Humanities and Fine Arts (9 S.H.)

Professional Educational Sequence (36 S.H.)

Note: Teacher education majors must take all courses in the Professional Education Sequence in addition to courses in the content area. Refer to the “Teacher Education Licensure Programs ” section of this catalog for more information.


  • EFRT 401 and 461 must be taken concurrently
  • EFRT 421 and 441 must be taken concurrently
  • EFRT 459 and 462 must be taken concurrently

Student Teaching

  • Students are also required to take 12 S.H. of Student Teaching. This course varies by department and program. See advisor for more information.

Additional Information

Students who have a double major in Special Education and another content area should contact an advisor to design an individual program of study.
