Legal Studies (LGLS) - BS Major


64 S.H. (no minor required)

2.0 GPA required.

Phase I. Interdisciplinary Foundations (21 S.H.)


These courses address topics related to the U.S. legal system in a variety of academic disciplines, ranging from history and political science to business and accounting.

Phase II. Legal Specialty Sequence (31 S.H.)


These courses concentrate on specific aspects of the legal profession. Legal specialty courses are offered in sequence (typically spring semester sophomore year).

Internship & Electives (18 S.H.)


Electives (6 or 12 S.H.)


If completing 12 S.H. of Internship, select 6 elective credits. If completing 6 S.H. of Internship, select 12 elective credits.

Phase III. Concentration/Minor Sequence (12 S.H. or a minor)


In Phase III, students choose to complete the requirements of the Legal Studies Program, including an additional 12 S.H. in a variety of law-related courses from various disciplines. Students can choose between five concentrations. Alternatively, they may elect to complete a minor of their choice in addition to completing the first two phases of the program.
