Clinical Laboratory Science - Completion Option (CLSC) - BS Major

3.0 GPA required.

Letter grade required in all major courses unless otherwise noted.

Overview

This option is available only to students who have already earned an AS or AAS degree in Medical Laboratory Technology and are certified as Medical Laboratory Technicians. All admitted students will be required to demonstrate clinical skills appropriate to this level of training in clinical microbiology, urinalysis, clinical physiology/chemistry, immunohematology, and laboratory techniques. Courses are taught online or in a blending online/on-site format.

Prior to admission to this program, students must have completed at least 60 S.H. of transferable coursework which includes courses equivalent to ENG 111 - College Reading and Writing , CMST 191 - Introduction to Public Speaking , BIOL 241 - Basics of Life , CHEM 212 - Principles of Chemistry I , CHEM 213 - Principles of Chemistry II , and at least six semester hours of courses which apply to GOALS 5 or 6 of the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum.

Students who have completed an Associate of Science (AS) or Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree must complete Goals 1-6 of the Minnesota Transfer curriculum or the Arts and Science core of the General Education Program requirements. Goals 7-10 of the MTC or the Unity and Diversity components of USP are waived for these students.

Completion of the CLSC program requires completion of 30 S.H. in residency at WSU. Residency means that 30 S.H. of courses must be offered by WSU. Online courses that are offered by WSU count toward the residency requirement.
