History (HIST) - Minor

18 S.H.

2.0 GPA required.

Letter grade required in all minor courses unless otherwise noted.

With its global and chronological scope, the history minor complements a wide range of majors in the fields of science, business, health care, the humanities, and arts. At WSU, the history minor combines a concise survey of global and regional histories with room for the student to pursue their own chronological, geographic, and thematic interests. To complete a history minor, students are required to take 18 credit hours of history classes (12 S.H. must be completed at WSU) and earn a 2.0 in those courses. There are no prerequisites for declaring a history minor.

Topics courses (HIST 397 , HIST 398 , and HIST 499 ) may count toward this requirement if they are in a non-U.S. subject.

Electives (9 S.H.)

Select any HIST courses. At least 6 S.H. must be taken at the 300/400-level. Electives are subject to advisor approval.

Course(s) Unique to Minor

WSU policy requires a minor contain at least one course unique to the minor and not used in major or additional requirements. See DARS for details.
