B grade or better required in CMST 493 ; C grade or better required in all other minor courses requiring a letter grade.

This minor is focused on the content needed to teach communication studies and media literacy and coach a speech and/or debate team in grades 5-12. This minor is not a stand-alone minor. Students must also earn a Communication Arts and Literature (Teaching) (CALT) - BT Major . This minor is designed for students who intend to teach in states other than Minnesota which require a minor in a subject area in order to be licensed to teach in that subject area.
