Counselor Education - Human Services Professional - MS


34 credits

The Human Services Professional Masters program provides practicing professionals with a non-counseling master’s degree. In addition to the required core curriculum, emphasizing personal and professional growth, the HSPM program allows the current working professional to select among electives designed to meet the student’s professional goals. Students looking to advance or be more effective in their human service or related work settings may benefit from this advanced degree.

Note: This is non-counseling degree. The HSPM degree is not eligible for CACREP accreditation.

Professional by Design


  • Select 10 credits of departmental-approved courses

Addiction Counseling


  • Minimum of 10 credits from Addiction Counseling program  with option to complete Licensed Alcohol and Drug Certificate for an additional 8 credits

Multicultural Education Certificate Program


Leadership Education


  • Select 10 credits in Leadership Education

Comprehensive Evaluation Requirement


At the beginning of a student’s program, the student and the advisor will co-create, and contractually document, a plan for comprehensive evaluation. This is required for degree completion.
